These photos were taken during my short trip to Macau with my boyfriend, in celebration of us having spent four years together..and also as our memory to hold on to, as we will begin our one-year-long-distance-relationship. I'm a little anxious about the 'long-distance' issue as everyone seems to be so concerned. But I do have a great leap of faith in him, so hopefully the short year will be fine. Anyway, I made a very special decision about the trip. If you haven't heard of Macau yet, it is the 'Oriental Las Vegas'. I'm sure you can easily picture a lot of grand casinos and 5 star hotels. So my special decision was...skipping the luxurious bits, and decided to stay at a newly opened Inn instead of spending my special night at a 5 star hotel. Of course I have stayed in 5 star hotels in Macau before, this is why I'm not picking it this time. I find staying in luxurious hotels in Macau a bit of a cliche. This time, I wanted a cozy, home-like feeling during my stay. The hotel we picked was '5footway Inn Project Ponte 16', it is under the Ponte 16 hotel group, priced below HKD1000 per night. Saw me taken some photos with the large paintings? That's the art gallery inside the Inn :)
Macau has a huge heritage of Portugal architectures, as it was once a Portuguese colony. With its close geographical location to HK, many people like travelling to Macau during the weekend. Partly to get out of the busy metropolitan and enjoy some seabreeze in the 'European' small town, partly to spend/win some fortune at the grand casinos. We decided to visit Macau because of the time constrain we had, or else we would have visited Thailand instead!
I chose this black ruffle top as it brings liveliness to the look, paired with a white trousers to create a strong colour contrast. The chunky wedged heels? I picked them because rainfall was expected, I presume my white pants wouldn't get splashed by dirty water if my feet were so far away from the ground? LOL... And yea, with all that 'skip-the-luxury' bullshit, we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at the Wynn hotel before departure!
